South Africa & Mauritius – a 16-day honeymoon itinerary

Once my new husband had won me over on his plans for our honeymoon (a total turn up for the books, so it transpired!) , we set-to researching locations and travel routes. After many chats with several travel agents and emails back and forth, we booked to go with Timbuktu.

Whist there was undoubtedly a small fee included within Timbuktu’s overall cost, the expertise they offered, local knowledge, transfer arrangements, general organisation and favourable rates all made this totally worth it! Navigating a country neither of us knew much about, where we didn’t have friends that had visited for advice and Google gave us an overwhelming multitude of options – it was great to have one reliable source!

Our itinerary combined exactly everything we wanted to see and do – and Timbuktu were great at organising a seamless trip.

In hindsight, if we’d had more time, we would have happily spent more time in Cape Town (we barely scratched the surface!), longer in Franschooek (so we could have explored more of the Wine Tram routes!) and infinite days and nights on safari!
